Chicago-based United Airlines is set to commence new non-stop services to three African destinations namely: Lagos, Nigeria, Accra, Ghana, and Johannesburg, South Africa.
As from next year (Spring 2021), United Airlines will offer three non-stop flights from Washington, DC to Lagos and Accra and a daily service from New York/Newark, NJ and Johannesburg.
When it commences, United Airlines will become the only carrier from the United States serving the West African corridor (Lagos and Accra) non-stop from Washington, DC.
United already offers seasonal three-times-weekly service between New York/Newark, NJ and CapeTown, South Africa.
The daily non-stop flight scheduled in the Spring of 2021 from New York/Newark, NJ to Johannesburg, South Africa will make United Airlines the US carrier with the most flights to South Africa.
The newly announced international routes are subject to government approval. With 65 different US cities connecting through Washington Dulles International Airport, United Airlines will offer seamless connections to West Africa.
